IRC Natural Resource Pvt. Ltd.

Starting off in mineral trading, IRC Natural Resources (INRPL) has diversified into the contract mining domain. This prime Mining business arm of IRC Group has been engaged by large Steel, Power and Alumina conglomerates to provide equipment in the chrome mines at Sukinda and iron and manganese mines at Joda. INRPL has accordingly organized ‘off-highway’ mining equipment such as excavators and dumpers for operations in these areas. Operating in India for over 4 decades in transport and logistics business. INRPL became one of the fastest growing professionally managed organizations in opencast coal and metalliferous mining activities independently in the country. For total outsourcing mining operations by INRPL, a large fleet of Heavy Earth Moving Machineries viz. Hydraulic Excavators, Dumpers, Ripper Dozers, Front End Loaders, Blast Hole Drills, Motor Grader etc. are being deployed as per the need of the customers. Bulk transportation of coal from mines to the power plant or point of delivery is also being carried out with Tipper Trailers.

Services

The company’s sojourn in the mining sector and its verticals viz. Transportation & Delivery of mined minerals, dates back to the year 2000, when it started contract mining (captive mining & coal transport) for the companies like TATA, Hindalco, GMR Group etc.

Mining

Gaining experience over the years the company had now acquired mines through Government auction covering deposits of China Clay, Fire Clay, Black Stone and Rock Phosphate in Birbhum and Purulia districts of West Bengal state, with the collaboration with “West Bengal Mineral Development and Trading Corporation Ltd. (WBMDTC)”, the only PSU under West Bengal Government. Starting production at these mines after completion of various statutory formalities & approvals are in an advance stage.

Port Handling

Apart from mining and transport, the Management had interested since years in possessing own jetty with the smooth cargo handling capacity and berthing facility. Thus IRC has designed and developed it’s own riverine jetty for a dedicated berthing and handling facility captive in nature at Haldia, in order to meet own export-import throughput requirements and improve operational efficiency at Haldia Port, West Bengal.

Cargo Handling

We have entered into a contract with Haldia Dock Complex (Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port) for cargo handling operation at Berth No. 14 (erstwhile, Berth No. 13) empowered by Mobile Harbour Cranes (Gottwald brand) for a period of 10 years. We specialize in providing cargo handling services for bulk cargo like Coal, Iron Ore, Manganese Ore, MOP, Sugar, Rock Phosphate, Limestone, Cement Clinkers etc. This experience has enabled us in developing efficient & cost effective handling methodologies.

Stevedoring & Shore Handling

With a view to expand our area of activities, we have received for a Stevedoring & Shore Handling license of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port for carrying out Stevedoring & Shore Handling works in both Kolkata and Haldia.

Also, we are exploring possibilities of cargo handling operations at various Multi-Modal Terminals being developed by Inland Waterways Authority of India.

IRC Commercial Pvt. Ltd.

With increased awareness of environmental protections, beneficial use of ash produced in coal fired thermal power plants has assumed top priority in countries across the globe. With more than a decade’s exposure to ash management in CESC’s power plants (located at Budge Budge, Metiabruz, Haldia) in and around Kolkata, this export business arm of IRC Group identified this opportunity in the above development and incorporated the same into it’s business model. Currently the company is exporting ‘fly-ash’ as raw material to major cement plants in Bangladesh and manufacturing of other ‘fly-ash’ based products eg. bricks, tiles, blocks, interlock blocks, pavers etc. is under active consideration.

Ash Export

We have access to both dry fly-ash as well as quenched bottom ash, which are basically by-product of pulverised coal or coal dust in power plants. Currently IRC Commercial Limited subsequently transports the fly ash by river barges to Bangladesh for supply to various cement manufacturing plants (Holcim Cement, 7 Circle, Unique Cement, Crown Cement, Heidelberg Cement, Anwar Group etc.) located in that country. We also undertake land filling work with bottom ash too. The company also supplies fly-ash to local cement and brick manufacturing companies whenever gets orders from them from time-to-time basis. Some of the local companies are Gazi Fly-ash Bricks, Disha Alliance Pvt Ltd. etc. where many local infrastructure firms in Kolkata and Haldia like Macneill Engineering Ltd., Orbit Construction, SNC Enterprises etc. get frequent supplies of bottom wet ash from time to time from IRC.

Manufacturing fly ash bricks, tiles etc. will be undertaken in the near future. This commercial division also has plan to export minerals like China clay, Rock Phosphate, Aggregates etc. to other countries from it’s own Mines in near future.

Hospitality & Entertainment

IRC brings to the East, a unique, state of the art structure, with prolific banquets facilities, both covered and pristine settings of a well manicured lawn, an indoor trampoline park and, a ‘one of a kind’ children’s play area, for the young at heart ones.
